I was super excited to see a package in my mailbox from Kathy McDonald of Adornyourself!  She very thoughtfully sent me a little gift pack for hosting her Giveaway recently! Thank You!  It was my pleasure!

The adorable Copper Heart pendant is stamped with antiqued detail!  I absolutely love it!  The cabs are circles and hearts and a square in porcelain with engravings and gorgeous glazed colors!  I can't wait to use these in future designs!  They are even more amazingly beautiful in person!

There are times that I am feeling a little uninspired, but having great friends that make jewelry and understand the good and the bad, people to share stories with and share projects with......these fellow artists and designers just know what to do or say to offer encouragement and bring the wind back into my sails!

Why does anyone buy colored gemstone jewelry?  Why not just buy gold and diamonds?  I'm curious why customers buy colored gems.  I know why I love colorful jewelry, but want to know what a person thinks that gets them online to search out a great gemstone ring, for example.  Is it an upcoming birthday for a daughter or a neice, Mother's Day, an engagement or anniversary?

Is the specific color gem they choose based on the birthstone for the one receiving the gift or is it the perceived value of the classic three precious gems Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire?

Can you tell I was in a baking mood?  I made Peanut Butter Cookies using the classic recipe from Better Homes and Gardens.  My poor cookbook is all in pieces and taped at the binding!

Using Silver Art Clay, I hand sculpted this little kitten to sit on a brick wall, looking up into the night sky at the stars and moon. There is a crescent moon on top and a hidden heart in the stars!

I like the uneven edges of this piece, which are smooth, but not cookie-cutter because I like the impression that the scene continues beyond the pendant. I pictured this design in a nighttime setting with the moon glowing blue and the pendant shining in the moon‘s reflection, catching the highlights. The hidden heart is just under the kitten’s left ear, upside down in the starry sky background!

About silver metal clay:
